Meet Muriiho
Jerusha Wright (b.1999) is a multidisciplinary painter and sculptor based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work centers themes of movement as a function of obsession, severance, and vanity; utilizing the experience of the body to explore structure and memory.
Influenced by her grandfather, Daniel Wright, Jerusha found painting early in life. Growing up a classically trained dancer, her career shifted during her time at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT. As an arts administrator, a lifelong appreciation and connection to contemporary art became a sustainable way of life. Being amongst a community of like-minded individuals built the foundation for her practice today.
Jerusha’s paintings and sculptures begin in the real world to find their footing in dreams and intuition. By binding terrestrial elements with anatomy, her visual language marries the spiritual and the tangible.
Her work is held in private collections across the US.
